Reimold: Gone but not forgotten

Manager Buck Showalter and president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail have discussed bringing up outfielder Nolan Reimold when rosters expand next month. Reimold is batting .247 with 11 doubles, 10 homers, 34 RBIs and a .750 OPS in 83 games at Triple-A Norfolk. As I noted last night, he's reached base in 30 of his last 31 games, batting .321 with four homers, 15 RBIs and 29 walks. "I can't say I know him well," Showalter said. "I do know he's playing well there consistently. I've been made aware that he's a guy that Andy is giving strong consideration. For instance, tonight he probably would have been in left field. We'll see what September brings. I'm not going to get ahead of it. There's a lot of dynamics to think about, but he's certainly a strong consideration for that. I'd like, in a perfect world, to get a look at him, but we'll see. "I think there's been some issues other than just playing the game itself that challenges all players. Year after year, you hear the so-called 'flavor of the month' and everybody's extolling your virtues and then you have some challenges that affect all young players on and off the field. I'm aware of some of the challenges that he's faced and it looks like he's starting to turn the corner and get that behind him. "We all love his potential and what he can bring. It's just, hopefully, he's at that stage of his career where he can bring it again. He's definitely real strong on the radar." More on Julio Lugo: His one appearance in the outfield with the Red Sox in 2008 consisted of one inning. And he's actually played more games at third base (21). Here's the Rangers lineup: Andrus SS Young 3B Hamilton LF Guerrero DH Murphy RF Moreland 1B Teagarden C Blanco 2B Borbon CF Wilson LHP Anyone else see "Moreland" at first base and immediately think "Keith?"
