Reimold, Hammel and the Yankees' lineup

Outfielder Nolan Reimold said the club will have a better idea later in the week whether he needs a second epidural injection for the herniated disk in his cervical spine. Team orthopedist Dr. John Wilckens examined Reimold yesterday, and he'll be checked again within a week. Reimold had his first epidural injection Friday, so it's too early to schedule a second one if it's needed. Reimold still has tingling in his left thumb and forearm, and a "constant aching" in his shoulder and upper arm. His neck actually feels fine, but the injury is causing discomfort in other areas. "It's pretty slow, so it's pretty frustrating just sitting around," he said. "I don't know if there's some magic cure where, boom, I'm going to wake up and be better, or if it's going to be slow, gradual, where I feel a little better and a little better every day, or how that's going to play out. "I was hoping with the shot that I'd just wake up and it would be gone, but that has not been the case." Orioles right-hander Jason Hammel said his right knee feels good today after he pitched five-plus innings last night, and he expects to make his next start on regular rest. "No setbacks," he said. "Still on the same routine I've been on and we keep moving on. But it definitely feels good." The knee didn't bother Hammel last night, but he became fatigued from the layoff. "Other than that, no pain, no soreness or stiffness," he said. "I'm still not running with the impact on the ground. I'm doing some pool work so it's less impact on the knee, to make sure we're going to get over the hump and there won't be any setbacks. We'll probably do that for at least a couple more starts." Robertson was taking over the ninth-inning duties from Mariano Rivera.
