Tonight they try and avoid a three-game sweep at Toronto at 7:05 p.m. when Jeremy Guthrie (10-15, 5.05) pitches against Scott Richmond (6-10, 5.31). The O's are now 49-5 when leading after seven frames and 52-4 when leading after eight. The O's did produce six doubles last night, two each by Matt Wieters and Micheal Aubrey. That's the most doubles since a team-record nine vs. Los Angeles on August 14th. The Orioles had 15 hits Tuesday, reaching double figures there for the 3rd time in ten games. The past two games, the O's are 10 for 25 when batting with runners in scoring position after going 3 for 24 with RISP the previous five games. Brian Roberts picked up his 55th double Tuesday. That ties Lance Berkman for the MLB record for most doubles in a season by a switch-hitter. It extends Roberts' O's single-season record. He has three doubles the past four games and six in 13 games. Roberts has 13 RBI over the O's last 15 games. The Orioles are now 20-44 on the year vs. AL East opponents, including a mark of 6-25 on the road. The O's are just 6-13 in September. The Blue Jays came into this series with four straight losses, but have posted 9-2 and 6-5 wins over the O's and can sweep the series tonight. Toronto scored just five runs in getting swept three straight by Tampa before this series, but has scored 15 runs in two games vs. O's pitching. The Jays lead the season series, 8 wins to 6 and are 7-1 at home vs. Baltimore. Magnificent Matt Matt Wieters continued his recent tear at the plate going 3 for 5 Tuesday at Toronto with two doubles and an RBI. It was his third three-hit game in his last four contests. During a five-game batting streak, Wieters is 11 for 21 (.524) with two RBI. Over his last nine games, he is batting .471 (16 for 34) with two homers and 11 RBI. Over his last 17 games, Wieters is batting .381. His average is up to a season-best .287. Wieters is batting .358 in September, .302 since the All-Star game and is 10 for 18 in four games since being moved to third in the batting order.
