Manager Buck Showalter says the results of the X-ray taken yesterday on Adam Jones' right thumb are "very similar to the last X-ray" taken in early July.
Jones has some swelling in the thumb and stiffness in the knuckle, which makes it painful to grip a bat. It doesn't bother him to throw.
The Orioles haven't scheduled any other tests for Jones, who remains day-to-day.
"There are other more detailed X-rays you can get into, but I don't see right now where that's a need yet," Showalter said. "If it doesn't get better over time, then we may go to that next step. But Richie (Bancells) and the doctors feel pretty good with what they're dealing with."
Jones could get back in the lineup tomorrow, but it's possible that Showalter gives him two more days to recover, including Thursday, when the Orioles don't have a game scheduled.

I'm co-hosting O's Xtra again tonight on MASN2, so I'll be away from the blog during the last few innings. I have to walk to the set in the picnic area, get wired up - electronically, I mean - and make sure that my tie is straight.
