Six Hagerstown Suns invited to tonight's South Atlantic League All-Star Game

Six low Single-A Hagerstown Suns are invited to play in tonight's South Atlantic League All-Star game in Hickory, N.C. The six Suns players matches the number invited from the Greensboro Grasshoppers as the most for any team from the Northern Division. Right-hander Nick Pivetta, left-hander Jake Walsh, right-hander Austin Voth, catcher Spencer Kieboom, infielder John Wooten and second baseman Wilmer Difo were the Nationals prospects invited to tonight's contest on June 3. Walsh, a Missouri Tiger, went 0-2 with a 1.80 ERA in 25 innings with 20 strikeouts and nine walks over 19 games. Pivetta made 11 starts in 12 games, going 8-3 with a 3.95 ERA, with 45 strikeouts and 22 walks. Voth, a Washington Husky, has really surged recently, tallying a 4-3 record with a 2.45 ERA. Voth has won three of his last four decisions, striking out a total of 74 batters with only 22 walks. He was just promoted to Potomac. Difo (DEE-foh) hit .308 in the first half with 16 doubles, four triples, seven home runs and 54 RBIs over 69 games. He had 22 stolen bases in 23 attempts. After going hitless for four games to end the first half, Difo went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases June 15. Former Clemson catcher Spencer Kieboom (KEY-boom) has had a tremendous start to his season following Tommy John surgery in early 2013. Kieboom is hitting .319 with 12 doubles, two triples, three homers and 23 RBIs in 37 games. Wooten broke his nose over the weekend in a game after getting hit by a pitch on his helmet that ricocheted to his nose. It is unclear whether he will be able to go tonight because he is on the disabled list. Wooten played in 60 games, hitting .288 with 16 doubles, two triples, six homers and 39 RBIs in the first half. The Suns finished the first half at 44-26 tied atop the Northern division, losing the first half tie-breaker Greensboro.
