Solis will make another progression start Wednesday for Potomac (updated)

Left-hander Sammy Solis is making progress following his first pro start of the season Friday for Single-A Hagerstown Suns. His next start is Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for Single-A Potomac, a club source confirmed. Solis went six innings, allowing only four hits, no runs, no walks and struck out seven batters to notch the victory last week for the Suns. The 6-foot-5 southpaw had been transferred to Double-A Harrisburg Senators. He worked out with the team the past couple of days. Solis had missed the first month of the season with a back issue, but made good progress in Florida and completed simulated games. The Hagerstown game was not a rehab start, but rather another chance for Solis to go through his progressions on the mound. He was evaluated after pitching six innings and Monday was sent up to Double-A Harrisburg to train with the team. After the P-Nats start, Solis will again be evaluated before a decision is made as to where his next start will be. UPDATE: If everything goes well for Solis today in Potomac, he will return to Harrisburg and finally pitch again for the Senators, a Nats source confirmed. Solis is expected to go at least five innings today.
