Solis zeroes in on strike zone for tonight's second Arizona start

Scottsdale Scorpions left-hander Sammy Solis makes his second start of the Arizona Fall League campaign tonight as he takes to the mound against Salt River.
Solis went three innings, allowing one run on two hits with three walks and no strikeouts in a no-decision against the very same Salt River Rafters, Oct. 6.
Despite the three walks, Solis was pleased with the outing and came away confident. Scorpions pitching coach Paul Menhart agreed, saying Solis threw "quality pitches, Solis was good."
Solis wants to "get the fastball command back a little (tonight). It was a little off last time out so I would like to fill up the zone a little more."
Solis was 8-3 with a 3.26 ERA in 17 starts between Single-A Hagerstown and Potomac this season, but was limited to 96 2/3 innings. So with the stuff Solis has shown, the Nationals look to this two month extended season in Arizona as a chance for the University of San Diego product to get his innings total up before Viera in February.
