Some postgame notes after the O's latest win

Checking in with some notes after the Orioles' 5-4 win over Minnesota. Matt at bat: Matt Wieters drove in one run in the first game of the series Monday, then had four RBIs Tuesday and two more last night. Over the three games of this series, he is 4-for-9 with a double, two homers and seven RBIs. Wieters' six RBIs over his last two games is more than he had in his first 13 games, when he drove in a total of five runs. Wieters has a four-game hitting streak and has homered three times on the year, all coming over his last seven games. He is now 6-for-6 on the year when batting with runners in scoring position with a double, two homers and 10 RBIs. Last year, Wieters had a batting average of .213 with RISP. A good start: Orioles pitchers have now produced three straight quality starts, the longest streak since they began the season with four in a row. Over the three games, the starters' ERA is 2.89 with six earned runs allowed over 18 2/3 innings. Jones and B-Rob: Adam Jones had a two-run double among three at-bats on Wednesday and he now has a six-game hitting streak going, during which he is 7-for-22. Last night was his second multi-RBI game of the season. In this series, Jones is 4-for-10 with a homer, double and three RBIs. Roberts now has an eight-game hitting streak and is 13-for-36 during the run for an average of .361 with a homer and six RBIs. Slow at the turnstiles: The attendance last night was 13,825 and the three dates in this series have attracted a total attendance of 39,008. That RISP stat: The last two nights, Orioles hitters have gone 8-for-14 (.571) with runners in scoring position after going just 2-for-20 in those situations in the previous three games. Looking for a clutch hit: Despite that stat I just mentioned, a couple of Birds have not driven in many runs lately. Mark Reynolds, who got some big clutch hits in earlier games, now has just two RBIs over his past 10 games. Derrek Lee has now gone 12 games without an RBI since he drove in two April 6. Winning numbers: The Orioles are now 7-2 when they score four runs or more and are 8-0 when they outhit the opponent. Last night, they had eight hits to the Twins' seven. The Orioles played error-free ball last night and they are now 7-3 when they don't make an error. Win the series: The Orioles won their first two series of the season against Tampa and Detroit. Since, they have lost the last three series versus Texas, New York and Cleveland. They can win the current series with a victory tonight.
