Some stats and notes as the O's go for a Fenway sweep

The Orioles are 10-4 against the Red Sox this season, outscoring them 76-59 in those games. In games between the teams decided by two runs or less or that went to extra innings, the Orioles are 7-2. The Orioles will have a winning record at Fenway Park for the first time since going 5-4 in 2005. The Orioles are 7-1 on the season there and are 9-1 over their last 10 games in Boston. From 2008-11, the O's went 10-26 at Fenway. The Orioles have won 14 of the last 19 and 16 of the last 21 games overall against the Red Sox. The Birds won seven straight games at Fenway Park from Sept. 20, 2011-June 6, 2012, setting a franchise record for most consecutive wins there. If it seems like the Orioles have gotten a lot of clutch hits in Boston this year, that is the case. They are batting just .258 as a team there but have scored 46 runs at Fenway in 2012 with a batting average of .371 when hitting with runners in scoring position. They also have 29 extra-base hits in the eight games in Boston with 17 doubles, three triples and nine homers. According to the O's media guide, the club has won eight games at Fenway in one season just twice, going 8-3 in 1960 and 8-1 in 1966. By the way, the Orioles are a combined 13-4 (.765) at New York and Boston in 2012. Mark Reynolds is now batting .400 (16-for-40) in 11 games against the Red Sox on the year with four doubles, six homers, 16 RBIs and an OPS of 1.450. Three of the last four and four of the last nine O's games have gone extra innings as they have won in 14, 18, 11 and 12 innings. Best AL extra-inning records: .889 - Orioles (16-2) .667 - Texas (8-4) .643 - Oakland (9-5) The Red Sox have the worst AL extra-inning record at 2-9 (.182). After picking up the series win this weekend, the Orioles are 9-2 in AL East road series this year, going 20-12. The Orioles have outscored their opponents 39-20 during their six-game win streak. Jim Johnson has recorded saves in each of the last four games for the Orioles and he has four saves the last five days. The only day he didn't get one was Thursday when the team was off.
