On deck: Tuesday, home vs. Red Sox, 1:05 p.m.
Bradenton, Fla. - Chase d'Arnaud hit a two-out, bases-empty home run off Orioles reliever Brock Huntzinger in the sixth to increase the Pirates' lead to 6-3.
It's the first baserunner allowed by Huntzinger in three outings.
Former Orioles infielder Robert Andino followed with a single and stolen base.
Chris Tillman was charged with five runs and six hits in 3 1/3 innings in his third outing of the spring.
"Felt good," he said. "Working on command. Two areas I would have liked to be better is first-pitch strike and two-strike approach. I left the ball up with two strikes and two hits. First pitch could have been better.
"I've just got to get myself ready. I'm going based off feel now, and as long as I feel like I executed the pitch well, physically felt well, that's all that really matters.
"Like I said, first-pitch strikes could have been better and two-strike approach."
Tillman has allowed six earned runs (eight total) and 11 hits in 7 2/3 innings, with no walks and nine strikeouts.
Is Tillman where he wants to be at this point in camp?
"I think so," he replied. "Physically, I feel great and I think that's all that matters right now. Every time out there, I get up there one more time, so I'm happy with where I'm at."
Catcher Steve Clevenger reached base three times today on a home run, single and walk.
Nolan Reimold singled into left field in the seventh, making him 3-for-14 this spring. The other two hits were infield singles.
Instant update: Rule 5 pick Michael Almanzar followed with a two-run homer to reduce Pittsburgh's lead to 6-5.
The Orioles have three bobblehead giveaways this season - Manny Machado on June 7, Adam Jones on Sept. 1 and the AT&T Fans' Choice Bobblehead on Sept. 21.
Update II: Jonathan Schoop doubled to score Johnny Monell, who was hit by a pitch, and tie the game 6-6 in the seventh inning.
Schoop is 9-for-16 with three doubles, a homer and five RBIs. He also homered in both intrasquad games.
The Orioles have scored 35 runs in the last three days (and four games).
Update III: Reimold walked with two outs in the eighth, Ivan DeJesus Jr. singled and Johnny Monell lined an RBI single into center field to give the Orioles their first lead, 7-6.
Monell's hit came against left-hander Andy Oliver, which won't go unnoticed in the Orioles' dugout.
Ryan Webb will work the bottom of the eighth.
