Time change for July 14 game vs. Tigers, Palmer statue dedication

If you use a pen on your calendar - assuming, of course, that you're not one of those tech-savvy folks who keeps all their appointments and events on a smart phone - I've got some news that's going to mean big scratched-out mark on a Saturday in July. The date in question is Saturday, July 14. That's when the Orioles are hosting the Tigers and the Jim Palmer statue is to be dedicated in the new center field picnic area (joining Frank Robinson's likeness, which was unveiled in April and Earl Weaver's, which joins the party June 30). The game will still be played and Palmer's bronze statue will still be feted, but a time change to accommodate national TV will mean some alterations in the schedule. The original 7:05 p.m. game time has been moved to 4:05 p.m. so the game can be broadcast on FOX. That means a time switch for the Palmer festivities, which will now be held at 2:15 p.m., with ballpark gates opening at 2 p.m. Fans holding tickets for July 14 who are unable to attend due to the time change may exchange their tickets at the Orioles Box Office or send their tickets to Baltimore Orioles, ATTN: July 14 Exchange, 333 W. Camden St., Baltimore, MD, 21201. Please allow two to four weeks for processing of mail exchanges. Ticket exchanges can be made for any remaining non-prime game this season and must be completed prior to July 14. Tickets for the July 14 game or any other game in the Orioles Legends Celebration Series, as well as a special five-game package, are available for purchase at www.orioles.com/legends. The list of remaining dates in the series are: * Saturday, June 30 - Earl Weaver * Saturday, July 14 - Jim Palmer * Saturday, Aug. 11 - Eddie Murray * Thursday, Sept. 6 - Cal Ripken Jr. * Saturday, Sept. 29 - Brooks Robinson
