Here at MASNsports.com, we want to make sure you watch every Orioles game possible on MASN. The latest Nielsen Research ratings show that you're doing a lot of that lately.
But as much as we like to have you tune in to watch the O's, it's only fair to let you know about those few times each season when you can't - and today's 1:10 p.m. game against the Rays at Camden Yards is one of those times.
Today's game is airing on Fox (locally on WBFF-TV, Channel 45 in Baltimore, and WTTG-TV, Channel 5 in Washington, D.C.) so a nationwide audience gets a chance to see manager Buck Showalter's Birds.
By virtue of its exclusive contract with Major League Baseball, Fox has the right to choose a Saturday game and the three-hour window in which it will air. So no other outlets, including rightsholders like MASN, can broadcast the game - or any game, for that matter - during that exclusive window. Today's window begins at 1 p.m.
Because there's no game on MASN, there's also no "O's Xtra" pregame or postgame shows today.
But regular O's baseball programming will resume Sunday, May 8 when the Rays and Orioles conclude their three-game series. The "O's Xtra" pregame show will air at 1 p.m. on MASN/MASN HD, followed by the game at 1:30 p.m. After the game, you can catch the "O's Xtra" postgame show.
