Tonight's game has been postponed (no DH tomorrow)

The Orioles haven't made an official announcement, but tonight's game against the Rays has been postponed. More details to come. Update: Now, it's official. The game has been postponed and a makeup date will be announced later. Fans are encouraged to keep their tickets and parking passes until more information becomes available. Also, the Jackie Robinson tribute jerseys will be worn at a later date. Update II: The Orioles won't play a doubleheader on Wednesday. The makeup date will be announced later. We won't know it tonight. We will, however, find out how the rotation is impacted. Miguel Gonzalez was supposed to start tonight and Chris Tillman on Wednesday. Stay tuned. Earlier today, manager Buck Showalter said, "We're preparing to play. That's what we do." "Windy, cold, rain, snow. That's what we do. You don't hear it in our clubhouse much. I think our guys are mature enough that they understand there's a price to pay for doubleheaders, especially when they're put off until August. There's a price for a lot of scheduling things that clubs do, like playing a night game before an 11 a.m. game." That's a reference to the upcoming four-game series in Boston. The Orioles have placed Triple-A Norfolk pitcher Steve Johnson and outfielder Xavier Paul on the seven-day minor league disabled list. Both assignments are retroactive to Saturday. Johnson has right shoulder inflammation and Paul has a lower back strain. Showalter knew earlier today that center fielder Adam Jones was sick. He could read the signs. "He was real quiet. We knew right away," Showalter said. "He's not feeling 100 percent." The virus has become a major concern to Showalter. It's twice struck traveling secretary Kevin Buck. "From what I understand, it's going on all over," Showalter said. "It's not just in our locker room. Unfortunately, medically, a lot of it is unavoidable other than don't touch or communicate with anybody all day. Pretty hard to do in our sport." Here were the pitching matchups for the series in Boston before tonight's postponement. It could be adjusted: Friday: Bud Norris versus John Lackey Saturday: Ubaldo Jimenez versus Felix Doubront Sunday: Wei-Yin Chen versus Jake Peavy Monday: Miguel Gonzalez versus Clay Buchholz The Sunday night game will air on ESPN. The Monday game begins at 11:05 a.m.
