Wada outing (Davis homers, Chen's done)

FORT MYERS, Fla. - While Taiwanese left-hander Wei-Yin Chen faces the Minnesota Twins today at Hammond Stadium, Japanese lefty Tsuyoshi Wada is pitching against a collection of Boston Red Sox Double-A players at Twin Lakes Park. Wada was allowed to go three innings and throw 46 pitches, including 31 for strikes. He faced 13 batters under those flexible rules. Wada allowed one unearned run and two hits, walked none and struck out two. Slowed early in camp by a sore elbow, Wada has appeared in only one Grapefruit League game. He allowed one run and one hit, with three strikeouts, in two innings Sunday against the Atlanta Braves in Orlando. Meanwhile, the Orioles are leading the Twins, 6-1, in the fourth inning. Xavier Avery's second double of the game scored Ryan Flaherty, who reached on a bunt single for his second hit. Update: Chris Davis hit an opposite-field homer off Matt Capps leading off the sixth, his second this spring, to increase the Orioles' lead to 7-1. Jim Johnson is warming in the bullpen, so Chen is done after five solid innings. He allowed one run and four hits, walked none and struck out one. He threw 72 pitches, 43 for strikes. Chen blanked the Twins after the first.
