Watch the Iron Man pick up his 3,000th hit on this week's "Orioles Classics"

Who doesn't love a little bit of history?

On this week's "Orioles Classics," we've have two historic events for you to relive, including Cal Ripken Jr.'s 3,0000th hit.

Here's what's on deck on MASN HD:

Wednesday, Feb. 11, 12:30 p.m.: The start of the 1988 season was not kind to the Orioles. There's no way to tiptoe around an 0-21 start. The team did not earn their first win until April 29 at the Chicago against the White Sox. May 2, 1988 was the first time the Birds returned to Baltimore since earning a win. The night was dubbed "Fantastic Fans Night." The faithful would not be disappointed, as they saw their Birds earn their first home win of the season. The Orioles defeated the Rangers 9-4 to improve their season record to 2-23. The club also announced plans for Camden Yards, which would open four years later in 1992.

Friday, Feb. 13, 12:30 p.m.: At the beginning on the 2000 season, Ripken was in pursuit of his 3,000th career hit. Ripken needed just nine hits to reach 3,000 at the end of his 1999 season. He finally reached the milestone on April 15, 2000 against the Twins. Ripken picked up three hits on the day, but his most important hit came with a seventh-inning single off of reliever Hector Carrasco. Oh, and the Orioles won the game, beating the Twins 6-4.
