Will the Orioles make any lineup changes?

With the Orioles struggling to hit and mired in a seven-game losing streak where they have scored just 17 total runs, some fans have said they think it is time to shake up the lineup. I don't expect to see manager Buck Showalter do that. It would surprise me if it happened this early in the year. Just because someone bats in a different spot, doesn't mean they will suddenly start getting hits they were not getting before. Right now, there is not one Oriole that is a hot hitter. In fact, most are under performing by a large margin. That should mean some days of solid offense are coming, but we've been waiting for a while now. Brian Roberts, with a career on-base percentage of .355 has an OBP of .279 right now. Vladimir Guerrero, who has a career batting average of .320, is now batting .259. He has a career OPS of .943 compared to .586 now. Derrek Lee has a slugging percentage at the moment of .288, well under his k Lee's career mark of .498. Nick Markakis is batting just .222 while his career average is .298. His career slugging mark is .463, but this year it's .370. Adam Jones, a career .274 hitter is batting .204 while Matt Wieters, a career .266 hitter is now batting just .205. It has to get better, right? Here's a change I might ponder. Drop Derrek Lee down to sixth, move Adam Jones up to second and bat Markakis third. I have always liked B-Rob, Jones and Markakis in the those first three spots. I've probably made that point a few times here. I don't have a problem with Jones hitting second, in fact I like having another speed guy with some pop up near the top of the order and he might see more fastballs batting after Roberts and before Markakis. Just to confirm, I don't expect to see it happen, just one man's thought. If you were making out the O's lineup tonight, would you make any changes? What would they be? Minor league notes: Frederick pitcher Bobby Bundy left the second game of a doubleheader in the fourth inning Sunday due to right forearm tightness. The 21-year-old is not expected to miss any starts, I am told. Bundy is 0-2 on the year with an ERA of 5.14 in two Keys' starts. The Orioles' 8th-round pick out of a Sperry, Oklahoma high school in 2008 went 4-6, 3.65 last year in 28 games, 18 starts for Delmarva. Bowie first baseman Joe Mahoney was hoping to come off the disabled list and play for the Baysox Sunday. But Mahoney remains out for now with a quad injury. He could still be out a few more days.
