From walk-offs to diving plays and more, the Orioles have made their 52 first-half wins exciting to watch. Without further ado, let's relive some of our favorite plays from the Birds' first half of the season.

Baseball is back! After a brief hiatus, the Nationals will kick off their second half of the season at home.
While we're technically past the halfway point of the season, the All-Star break seems like a natural time to evaluate the first halves of teams' seasons. The Nats sit in a first-place tie with the Braves in the National League East with a 51-42 record.
Before the Brewers-Nationals series kicks off tonight, let's take a look back at what national writers are saying about the Nats...
Although teams have technically played more than half of their games, the All-Star festivities serve as a clean break in the season, offering a time for players, managers, front offices, spectators and national writers to evaluate teams' seasons so far.
And for the O's, all seems well when looking at their record. The Orioles, who in the offseason were projected to sit toward the bottom of the tough American League East, are in first place and have a four-game lead over the second-place Blue...
The Nationals were looking for a strong outing from Stephen Strasburg during the finale of the last series they played with the Milwaukee Brewers during Washington's trip to Miller Park in late June. The previous night's 16-inning marathon left the Nats bullpen depleted, but they'd outlasted the Brewers and set themselves up with an opportunity for a three-game sweep of the National League Central's first-place team.
Strasburg was in the midst of a rough stretch of starts, however, in which...
Baseball's intermission is over. The second act of the 2014 season is about to get under way. Before we dim the house lights and take in the rest of the show, let's be clear about one thing: Orioles fans don't need to apologize for the team's success.
The Orioles have their share of critics despite leading the American League East at the All-Star break for the first time since 1997. I was reminded of that reality by a fellow baseball fan this week when he commented of the O's first-place...

Washington Nationals right-handed reliever Tyler Clippard today was named to the National League All-Star team by Cardinals field manager Mike Matheny and Major League Baseball. Clippard will replace Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran, who started Sunday's contest at Chicago. The 85th Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be held at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN on Tuesday, July 15.
Clippard, 29, is 6-2 with one save and a 2.03 ERA (9 ER/40.0 IP) in 43 appearances for...
The Nationals have no plans to place Jordan Zimmermann on the disabled list at the moment, manager Matt Williams told the media after tonight's win.
The right-hander's MRI results came back positive, revealing only a slight biceps strain in his pitching arm.
That's good news for a pitcher who had Tommy John surgery in 2009 and is a relief for the club.
Zimmermann had to leave his start Friday after just 49 pitches and 3 1/3 innings. He didn't seem overly concerned at the time.
"The...
Left-hander Cole Hamels entered the night leading the Phillies rotation with a 2.87 ERA, having not allowed more than three runs since May 27.
But the Nationals got to him right away tonight, taking a 1-0 lead in the first.
Denard Span drew a leadoff walk and a double by Anthony Rendon put runners on second and third with no outs. Jayson Werth grounded out to short, bringing Span home and moving Rendon to third.
But the Nats couldn't push another run across. Hamels minimized the damage by...
Ian Desmond is back in the Nationals lineup after sitting out Friday with a bruised hand suffered when he was plunked Thursday against the Orioles.
Desmond will be batting sixth while left-handed-hitting outfielder Bryce Harper starts the night on the bench against Phillies southpaw Cole Hamels.
Harper has struggled since his return from the disabled list, going 5-for-35 (.143) with a double, a homer, two RBIs and 13 strikeouts. However, he has had success against Hamels, who he has faced...
The Orioles today announced that they have recalled catcher Steve Clevenger from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned right-hander Miguel Gonzalez to the Tides.
Clevenger, 28, has batted .328/.378/.458 in 36 games with Norfolk after batting .243/.300/.378 in 24 games for the Orioles earlier this season.
Gonzalez, 30, has gone 4-5 with a 4.04 ERA (89.0IP, 40ER) in 16 games (15 starts) for the Orioles.
After sailing through the first inning, Nationals right-hander Jordan Zimmermann ran into a bit of trouble in the second.
After striking out Ryan Howard for the first out, Zimmermann allowed back-to-back singles to Marlon Byrd and Cody Asche. Domonic Brown then hit a two-run double to center to give the Phillies a 2-0 lead.
Zimmermann ended the inning by striking out the last two batters.
Through two innings, Zimmermann has thrown 25 pitches.
The Nationals have two hits off of A.J....
Heading into the last series before the All-Star break, two of the Nationals' most reliable players are dealing with injuries.
Both shortstop Ian Desmond and right fielder Jayson Werth were injured in Thursday's loss to the Orioles.
Desmond was struck on the right hand by a Darren O'Day pitch in the eighth inning and is out of tonight's lineup. Werth fouled a ball off his foot in the ninth, but is starting tonight.
After staying in the game initially, Desmond had to leave before the...
The Orioles today announced that Curb Records artist Marie Miller will perform "America the Beautiful" during the seventh inning stretch Saturday at Oriole Park as the Orioles host the New York Yankees.
Miller (@mmillermusic on both Twitter and Instagram) is a singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her single "6'-2," appeared on Dancing with the Stars this spring and currently appears on multiple Billboard charts.

While Ian Desmond's name was in the headline of FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal's article this week about the Nationals being in the market for a young shortstop who could potentially replace the 28-year-old infielder if he leaves as a free agent after the 2015 campaign, Jordan Zimmermann's name came up, as well.
The Nats' 2007 second-round pick is due to become a free agent after next season.
Both Desmond and Zimmermann were rumored to be discussing long-term deals last winter before each...

The Orioles had two batters log five hits in a game within the course of two days this past week. Nelson Cruz went 5-for-5 in a 7-4 win against the Red Sox. Manny Machado then followed suit with a 5-for-6 night at the plate in Monday's 8-2 win against the Nationals. Both players fell one hit short of the team record, which Cal Ripken Jr. established on June 13, 1999 at Atlanta. Had Cruz and Machado been playing at home, they would have matched the team record for most hits in a home game,...

This season's Battle of the Beltways kicked off on Monday in D.C. A lot of Orioles fans made the trip south to make sure there was a lot of orange at Nationals Park.
On Wednesday, the battle made its way up 295 to Camden Yards. While there were Nationals fans in the stands, Baltimore fans represented to keep the Yard orange.
We had Kevin Stanfield take a trip to Eutaw Street to find out how much of a rivalry exists between the Nationals and Orioles. Do you think it's a rivalry?
