The Austin Brice era with the Orioles was fleeting.
It lasted about a month.
The Marlins have claimed Brice off waivers after the Orioles designated him for assignment on Jan. 28 to create a spot for infielder Jack Reinheimer on the 40-man roster. Reinheimer was claimed off waivers from the Rangers.
The Orioles claimed Brice from the Angels on Jan. 4 and designated infielder Breyvic Valera for assignment. They traded Valera to the Giants the following day for cash considerations.
Brice, 26, is 2-4 with a 5.68 ERA and 1.262 WHIP in 70 relief appearances over the past three seasons. He registered a 5.79 ERA and 1.393 WHIP in 33 games with the Reds over the summer before the Angels claimed him on Nov. 2.
The Angels designated him for assignment on Dec. 29 after signing catcher Jonathan Lucroy.
He's on the move again.
Brice broke into the majors with the Marlins in 2016 and allowed 11 earned runs (12 total) with 14 strikeouts in 14 innings.
The Orioles have 22 pitchers on their 40-man roster and invited non-roster right-handers Gregory Infante, Dean Kremer, Josh Lucas, Zach Pop, Bo Schultz and Gabriel Ynoa and left-handers Sean Gilmartin and Chris Lee to major league camp.
Here's the current 40-man roster, which will undergo more adjustments as the Orioles acquire players before opening day:
