Is the O's offense ready to heat up again? (Hunter Harvey fans eight)

Going into the fifth inning last night, the Orioles had been shutout in two of their last three games and had been shutout over the previous 15 innings by Houston pitching. They finally broke out a bit on offense and posted a 6-3 win. The Orioles had scored just 19 runs in their previous eight games and had just 15 hits in their last three. Will the offense now get back on track after scoring six runs with 11 hits last night? We probably need much more evidence than that one night. A look at some of the O's hitters right now: Nate McLouth: His two RBIs last night matched his total from the previous 24 games. But he's been hitting pretty well lately, batting .350 over his last five games and .354 over his last 12. Manny Machado: He was 0-for-14 over the previous four games and 9-for-64 over a 16-game stretch before going 2-for-4 last night. Nick Markakis: While he is batting .342 over his last 10 games, his RBI last night ended an 11-game RBI drought. He had driven in just one run over his past 22 games. Chris Davis: He was 4-for-24 over his last seven games, but hit homer No. 39 and knocked in run No. 100 last night. With his next homer he'll become the fifth Oriole to ever hit 40 homers, joining Brady Anderson (50 in 1996), Frank Robinson (49 in 1966), Jim Gentile (49 in 1961) and Rafael Palmeiro (43 in 1998). Matt Wieters: Is 0-for-20 over his last six games after batting .375 with four homers over the previous 15 games. Brian Roberts: He went 1-for-4 with an RBI last night and has knocked in 12 runs over his last 20 games. Henry Urrutia had two more hits last night and I'd still like to see him get some more regular at-bats in the DH spot. With Steve Pearce now back on the roster, he may get some DH starts vs. left-handed pitching. Even with their recent slumps, Davis entered last night leading the American League home run race by six and Machado had eight more doubles than the next closest to him in that category and that is without hitting one for the last 21 games. In the AL rankings, the Orioles are first in homers and slugging, second in doubles, third in hits and batting average and fourth in runs scored. But this recent offensive slide had a few fans nervous and concerned about the offense. Should fans still be concerned or was this recent stretch just part of the ups and downs of a long season? What is your take on the offense right now? Hunter Harvey update: The Orioles top draft pick had a very good outing on Thursday in the Gulf Coast League. Right-hander Hunter Harvey pitched three scoreless innings with eight strikeouts against the first-place GCL Red Sox. Harvey struck out the side in the first and third innings and fanned two in the second inning. That was his third pro outing after he had pitched one inning in his pro debut and two innings in his second start. The Orioles are slowing stretching him out and also giving him two bullpen side sessions between his outings right now. Over those three games, he has pitched six innings allowing four hits and two runs with one walk and 10 strikeouts.
