If you're heading down to sunny Florida to watch the Nationals during spring training, I'm jealous.
I'm not going anywhere.
But while I'm enjoying the winter winds of the mid-Atlantic, fans who do make the trek to Viera, Fla., will get the chance to see the Nationals take on Georgetown University's baseball team in an exhibition game Friday, March 2. The Nationals will serve as hosts and first pitch is slated for noon at Space Coast Stadium.
This will be the second time the Nats and Hoyas meet on the diamond. Washington also hosted Georgetown for an exhibition game back on Feb. 28, 2008. The Nationals won that contest handily 15-0.
Tickets for the exhibition game will cost $5 with all proceeds benefiting the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation. Nationals 2012 spring training season ticket holders will be granted free admission.
Along those same lines, the Nationals open their official Grapefruit League schedule the following day against the Houston Astros, before hosting Houston on Sunday, March 4. Fans interested in single-game tickets, season tickets, group tickets (25 or more) or suites should call 321-633-9200 or visit nationals.com for more information.
Single-game tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28.
