You may have missed a stat I had in a post earlier today.
In six of their last seven games, the Orioles do not have a single hit with runners in scoring position. Now in some of those games, they did not have many chances, but are a collective 0 for 21 with RISP in the six games.
In the other game, game one of Saturday's doubleheader, they went 8 for 16 and scored seven runs.
Tonight, they trailed 2-0 after five and are 0 for 2 in those situations, failing to score when they had runners on second and third and one out in the fourth.
The O's offense has now scored just one run over the last 24 innings through tonight's fifth frame with Seattle leading 2-0.
Cliff Lee has had to throw just 67 pitches so far.
Update: The O's trail 5-0 as they are batting in the seventh at the chilly Yard. They have now gone 19 consecutive innings without scoring a run and have scored just one run over the last 25 innings.
The scoreless streak ends: The Orioles just scored their first run since the fifth inning of the night game Saturday at Minnesota. It will look like a line drive in the box score, but a two-out bloop single, just inside the right field line by Garrett Atkins, scored Ty Wigginton, who had doubled. The O's trail Seattle now 5-1 after seven innings.
