Orioles announce series of "Operation Orange" rallies

The Orioles today announced a series of "Operation Orange" rallies to generate fan excitement as the team prepares to open the 2013 season. The "Operation Orange" rally crew will travel throughout Baltimore and surrounding areas, beginning this Saturday at the Arundel Mills Mall Grand Slam Saturday in the Roundhouse Food Court in Hanover, MD from noon to 2:00 p.m. The rally crew will be accompanied by the Oriole Bird and Orioles Hall of Fame catcher Chris Hoiles. When the Orioles open the season in Tampa Bay on Tuesday, April 2, the rally crew, the Oriole Bird and Orioles Hall of Famer Boog Powell will be at Dempsey's Opening Day Kick-off at Dempsey's Brew Pub and Restaurant from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. WBAL Radio (1090AM) will be broadcasting a special version of Orioles On Deck with Brett Hollander live from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Guests can also enjoy extended all-day happy hour specials on food and drink, including $0.54 wings and craft and seasonal beer specials, before watching the Orioles battle the Rays at 3:10 p.m. On Wednesday, April 3, the Oriole Bird will be joined by Mr. Boh at the Canton Square Orioles Pep Rally presented by Natty Boh from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Fans can participate in rally activities with the "Operation Orange" rally crew as they watch the Orioles take on Tampa Bay in the Canton Square bars starting at 7:10 p.m. Former Orioles outfielder Joe Orsulak will accompany the Oriole Bird on Thursday, April 4 at the Operation Orange Happy Hour at Power Plant Live from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Fans are invited to come early to watch the Orioles take on Tampa Bay in the series finale at 3:10 p.m. while enjoying happy hour food and drink specials. The rally schedule will be capped off on Saturday, April 6 at the annual "Birds are Back" rally presented by Orioles Radio Network Affiliate WTTR Radio (1470AM) at the Town Mall in Westminster. Orioles pitcher Miguel Gonzalez and Hoiles are expected to attend and sign autographs for fans from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The rallies will include ticket giveaways, trivia, and raffles for Orioles-themed gear and other promotional items. The current list of rally dates and locations is below.
