For his second act, Jake Arrieta will switch leagues and coasts and still try to win.
After beating the Yankees last week, maybe the Giants won't look too tough when Arrieta takes the mound tonight.
He says he is settling in with the team nicely at this point.
"The first day I was kind of high strung a bit, lot of nerves, lot of tension. I didn't really know what to expect but everything went well. Adrenaline was through the roof. But now I feel a lot more relaxed, kind of laid back. ...
OK, no promises, but for now the plan is to stay up late (or is that early?) and watch tonight's entire Orioles game.
No, I don't need my head examined.
It comes with the job. Plus, I am a late-night and not an early morning person. If the game began at 7 a.m, I'd plan to miss a few innings.
It will hold my interest well into tonight and tomorrow if Chris Tillman pitches well, or the game is close throughout or if the O's offense breaks out (stop laughing).
Plus I know Buster Posey...

Brad Bergesen's next start is set for this Thursday night when Triple-A Norfolk plays at Toledo.
Bergesen, who was 3-4, 6.50 in 12 games, 10 starts for the Orioles, was optioned back to Norfolk on Sunday for the second time this year.
Bergesen got the win in his one other Triple-A start this year, on April 25 vs. Charlotte. In seven innings, he allowed seven hits and two runs in that game, throwing 81 pitches.
"The plan is for Bergesen to make that start on Thursday," John Stockstill,...
The Orioles and Giants have split six games all-time, with the road team taking two of three in both series. The Orioles visited San Francisco in 2002 and the Giants visited Camden Yards in 2004.
The Orioles are 1-5 in interleague play this year (1-2 at Washington, 0-3 vs. the Mets). They went 11-7 against the NL in 2009 to tie the franchise mark for best record in interleague play (also 1999 and 2008).
Don't you miss those glory days?
They'll pass you by.
The Orioles are 102-133 all-time...
Despite a challenging start to the 2010 season, the Baltimore Orioles continue to earn strong television ratings on MASN. Year-to-year, the Orioles are up 12 percent over last year, drawing an average 3.8 household rating (about 41,420) this season.
The Orioles' improved ratings illustrate the depth of commitment Orioles fans have for their team. Simulcast games on WJZ bump the audience up to 58,860 homes (a 5.4 rating).
Increased interest in MASN (locally and nationally) in recent weeks...

Last Friday, I took a quick trip over to BGR - The Burger Joint in Alexandria to try the now-famous Strasburger.
The burger, which is named for and dedicated to Stephen Strasburg, features Vermont Cheddar cheese (for Strasburg's days with the Syracuse Chiefs), a grilled hot dog (representing the Phoenix Desert Dogs) and 14 pickles for the 14 strikeout debut.
BGR founder Mark Bucher conceived of the Strasburger the morning after Strasburg's incredible major league debut. He immediately...
Welcome back for another weekly 'Where in the Yard?' here in the Orioles Buzz. While the O's have taken flight from Baltimore to head out on a road trip, we'll return to Oriole Park to see how well you know your own back Yard.
Simply take a look at the photo below and let us know what the item is and where it's located in or around Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Good Luck O's fans!
Update: Brandt (O's fan) was the first one to guess this week's image correctly, followed then by Zevi...
Happy Monday!
Can you guess this week's Where at Nats Park photo?
Answers will be posted Wednesday.
