Game 43 lineups: Nats vs. Yankees

Hello from South Capitol Street, where the Nationals are home for the next week-and-a-half, hosting a pair of marquee opponents (Yankees, Dodgers) and then the Padres. The matchups don't get much bigger than what's on tap the next two nights (weather permitting). No two teams in baseball are hotter right now than the Nats (who have won 13 of 15) and the Yanks (who have won 19 of 22).

Gonzalez-Throw-Blue-Sidebar.jpgIt'll be up to Gio Gonzalez to try to contain that ferocious New York lineup tonight, a lineup that is loaded with right-handed power. Gonzalez actually has owned Giancarlo Stanton throughout their respective careers; the former Marlin is only 6-for-31 with zero homers and a .290 slugging percentage. He has never faced Aaron Judge.

The Nationals lineup, meanwhile, has seen Masahiro Tanaka before, though the two guys who have faced him the most (Matt Wieters, Daniel Murphy) are on the disabled list. Bryce Harper did homer off the Japanese right-hander in 2015 at Yankee Stadium.

No weather updates to provide yet. As always, if I know something, you'll know something.
