This is a series of rematches. Last night, it was a rematch between Patrick Corbin and Zac Gallen (at least until the storm hit). Tonight, it's a rematch between Stephen Strasburg and Sandy Alcantara, the same two right-handers who squared off Thursday night at Marlins Park, with Strasburg and the Nationals emerging victorious.
That win made Strasburg 10-0 against Miami since late in the 2015 season, but he didn't exactly dominate. The Marlins scored three runs off him in the third, then another in the fifth. But taking a page from Max Scherzer, Strasburg finished strong, retiring seven of the last eight batters he faced, once his teammates had given him a lead.
The Nationals needed some time to figure out Alcantara, who retired 10 of the first 11 he faced. Then Juan Soto homered in the fourth. Then Matt Adams clubbed a three-run homer and Victor Robles added a two-run homer in the sixth to turn the entire game around. All three of those guys are in tonight's lineup, with Adams back at first base and Ryan Zimmerman on the bench.
We've got a similar forecast to last night, but hopefully the storms will stay away. And don't forget about the early 6:05 p.m. start time, as these two teams try to wrap up quick and get a little bit of rest before Thursday's 11:05 a.m. special.
