Josh Willingham and his wife Ginger have launched an important foundation dedicated to serving children and families in need in Alabama.
The first project of the Josh Willingham Foundation will be building a playground for under-served children in their hometown of Florence, Alabama, but they also hope to help families in need around the holidays.
"We started the foundation because we've had so much support from our family, our hometown and our friends back home," said Ginger Willingham. "We felt like this was something we wanted to do to give back to our community somehow."
On November 15-16th, the Willinghams will be hosting a Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament, as well as a dinner and auction to raise funds for their programs. Willingham might also conduct some baseball clinics in the off-season to raise money in alternative ways.
"Now, we feel like we can give back and really do things that help others," Willingham continued. "Last year we helped with raising money for families to get groceries for the holidays, so we were able to see that. People were standing out there every Friday, in pouring down rain. There are needs out there and we want to do the best we can to give back."
