Before we dive even deeper into Bryce Harper cracking the Nationals lineup tomorrow, let's look at the Nats lineup today.
There's an interesting twist to manager Davey Johnson's lineup against the Dodgers: He's dropped second baseman Danny Espinosa to sixth in the order and has Steve Lombardozzi playing third base and hitting in the No. 2 spot tonight.
Johnson has said he likes slotting Espinosa into the two hole in his lineup because he likes having run-producers towards the top of the order. He's repeatedly said he has faith in Espinosa, even after a rough spring training and early struggles to begin the regular season.
But with Espinosa hitting just .209 this season and only .186 against righties, the 25-year-old's offensive issues are getting tough to ignore.
Tonight, Lombardozzi (who is hitting .364 in 22 at-bats this season) will hit behind Ian Desmond with Espinosa moved down four spots. Jayson Werth also has been moved up to the No. 3 spot.
Here are the Nationals' and Dodgers' lineups as Ross Detwiler opposes Los Angeles' Clayton Kershaw:
