Nationals announce 2017 spring training schedule

The Washington Nationals announced their 33-game 2017 Spring Training schedule on Monday, featuring 16 games at their new spring home, The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Fla. Washington will begin the 2017 Inaugural Season at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches with its first home game on Tuesday, Feb. 28, against its partner at the new facility, the Houston Astros.

The Nationals will begin their 2017 Grapefruit League slate with three road games, visiting the New York Mets in Port St. Lucie, Fla. (2/25), the Minnesota Twins in Fort Myers, Fla. (2/26), and the St. Louis Cardinals in Jupiter, Fla. (2/27), before the inaugural game at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches on Feb. 28.

In addition to their 16 home games, during which Washington will welcome three of its four National League East foes (Miami, New York and Atlanta) all at least once, as well as the Cardinals (March 3, 10, & 24), Twins (March 5), Boston Red Sox (March 7), Detroit Tigers (March 13), and New York Yankees (March 20), the Nationals will also serve as the road team in three games against the Astros at the shared stadium.

Washington and Houston will play each other seven times during the Grapefruit League slate with the Nationals hosting on Feb. 28, March 12, March 18, and March 26, while the Astros will serve as the home team on March 2, March 15, and March 25.

For fans planning a visit to the Nationals' new Spring home, from March 7-13 Washington will play five of seven games at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, featuring visits from the Red Sox, Marlins, Cardinals, Astros and Tigers. Furthermore, one of the Nationals' two road contests in that stretch will be against St. Louis, whose Spring home at Roger Dean Stadium is now just a 12-mile drive north of the Nationals' home base.

Season ticket packages for all 31 games at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, as well as Nationals 16-game packages, will be available beginning on Nov. 28th at 9 a.m. online at nationals.com/spring, and via phone at 888.632.NATS (6287).
