Nationals Park to host Hiring our Heroes job fair

As an extension of the team's military outreach conducted throughout the baseball season, the Washington Nationals will join the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's National Chamber Foundation in hosting a Hiring Our Heroes job fair at Nationals Park on Wednesday, December 5. This free event aims to help veterans and military spouses transition from military service to the civilian workforce. It will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Stars & Stripes Club and will be open to veterans, active duty service members, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses only. There will also be a series of career-building presentations for attending military spouses through the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Business Alliance. "With thousands of military service members and their families in the D.C. Metropolitan area, the Nationals have made military outreach a priority and this is just another way we can show our appreciation and support to those who serve this country," said Lara Potter, Nationals Vice President & Managing Director of Communications and Brand Development. The event is sponsored by Capital One and co-sponsored locally by the Military Bowl, Military Spouse Employment Partnership, the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR), the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans Employment & Training Service (DOL VETS), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and The American Legion. Preregistration for the event is encouraged and proof of military service is required. To register for free, job seekers should go to hoh.greatjob.net.
