Nationals Recall Outfielder Justin Maxwell From Triple-A Syracuse

The Washington Nationals today recalled outfielder Justin Maxwell from Syracuse of the Triple-A International League. Nationals Senior Vice President & General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
Maxwell was hitting .296 with 13 doubles, six home runs and 18 RBI in 55 games for Syracuse at the time of the promotion. Maxwell's 55-game International League stint included 11 stolen bases, 30 walks and a strong .400 on-base percentage.
Since rejoining Syracuse on June 1, Maxwell hit .309 with seven doubles, six home runs, 14 RBI, 15 walks, eight stolen bases and 15 runs scored.
Maxwell has posted a .362 on-base percentage in 21 games spanning two stints with the Nationals this season, despite going just 4-for-33 (.121) with a double, homer and three RBI at the plate.
Maxwell is a career .223 (33-for-148) big league hitter with five doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 17 RBI, 26 walks and eight stolen bases in 76 games with Washington spanning three seasons (2008-10).
