A few notes after the O's Friday loss to the Twins

So the Orioles still have the chance for a 7-3 homestand. But they'll need to win the next two games against Minnesota. That means they also have the chance to have a 5-5 homestand. When they started the homestand going 4-0, 7-3 or less doesn't sound as good. They've lost three of four games after giving up three in the eighth inning to lose last night.

The Twins are 5-0 against the Orioles and they have outscored the Birds 36-13 in those games. The O's have hit just .229 in the season series with a team ERA of 7.27. Minnesota is batting .318 with an OPS of .901 in the five games.

More notes on the Orioles:

* The Orioles have lost six consecutive games to the Twins dating back to September 1, 2014. This is the Twins longest win streak versus the O's since taking nine in a row from Sept. 23, 2006-Aug. 26, 2007.

Chen recorded his 16th quality start of the season, surpassing his total of 15 quality starts from last year in seven fewer starts. Chen threw 106 pitches, the first time this season in which he has surpassed the 100-pitch threshold in three consecutive outings. Chen has an ERA of 1.77 his past three starts.

* Outfielder Gerardo Parra extended his hitting streak to eight games (.400/.417/.771) after going 1-for-4 with a three-run homer. He is 14-for-35 during the streak. Parra is now batting .284/.326/.506 (23-for-81) with three doubles, five home runs, 10 RBIs, and 17 runs scored in 19 games with the Orioles.

* Chris Davis has now hit safely in 15 of his last 18 games, batting .359/.461/.828 (23-for-64) with three doubles, nine home runs, 18 RBIs, and 18 runs scored in that span. Davis has hit six homers his last 12 games and nine in his last 18 contests.

* The Twins went 13-22 their past 35 games until they posted back-to-back wins in this series.
