FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Orioles are taking batting practice back in Sarasota this morning after playing a night game. The bus is far behind the beat writers who drove to JetBlue Park.
Mike Wright is starting today, and other pitchers on the trip include Dylan Bundy, Brad Brach, T.J. McFarland, Chaz Roe, Oliver Drake, Chris Jones, Andy Oliver, Joe Gunkel and David Hess.
Reserves include infielders Trey Mancini, Ozzie Martinez, Adrian Marin, Garabez Rosa and Drew Dosch, outfielders Dariel Alvarez, Henry Urrutia, Xavier Avery and Alfredo Marte, and catchers Chance Sisco and Audry Perez.
Yovani Gallardo threw live batting practice yesterday at the Ed Smith Stadium complex and will make his Orioles debut on Wednesday against the Phillies in Clearwater. The club is bringing him along slowly after his late signing to a two-year contract that guarantees him $22 million and includes a team option.
Jeremy Hellickson will start for the Phillies.
Chris Tillman is throwing live batting practice on Monday and is expected to make his spring debut Thursday against the Yankees in Sarasota. The spot is listed as TBD. Same with the Yankees.
Ubaldo Jimenez starts on Monday against the Twins' Phil Hughes in Sarasota. Miguel Gonzalez starts on Tuesday against Red Sox left-hander Brian Johnson, giving the Orioles back-to-back home games for the first time this spring.
Tuesday's game will air live on MASN.
Christian Walker leads the Orioles with four RBIs, one more than Jonathan Schoop. Walker, who's 3-for-9 with a double, triple and home run, is getting another start today at first base.
