A few postgame notes following 10-3 win in San Diego (updated)

Orioles center fielder Adam Jones had three hits today after tallying four last night, the fifth time in his career and the second time this year that he collected three or more hits in consecutive games. It also happened on April 4-5. Jones, a San Diego native, owns a career .550 (11-for-20) average with two home runs and four RBIs in five games at Petco Park. In seven games against the Padres, Jones has hit .464 (13-for-28) with two home runs and six RBIs. Jones now has 74 hits on the road this season, tied for the most in the American League this season with teammate Manny Machado. J.J. Hardy matched his season-high with three RBIs. He's done it five times, most recently on July 22 in Kansas City. Hardy's 71 home runs since the start of the 2011 season are the most of any major league shortstop. Chris Davis' three-run homer in the eighth inning, which broke a 3-3 tie, traveled an estimated 453 feet, tied for the second-longest ever hit at Petco Park. He matched Andruw Jones on July 15, 2006 and Russell Branyan on Sept. 24, 2006 and is second only to Adrian Gonzalez's 458 foot blast on April 26, 2009. Davis now has 38 extra-base hits on the road this season, the most in the majors. Davis is batting .488 (20-for-41) in interleague play this season with nine games remaining against National League opponents. Joe Randa, in 1999, is the only player to hit .500 or better during interleague play. Also, Gordon Edes reports that the Red Sox will open the 2014 season in Baltimore, according to a source.
