Somewhat lost in the two pitching debacles of Thursday and Friday, where the Orioles allowed 30 runs over two games, is that the offense continues to make a slow, but steady resurgence. In the first two games of the series versus the Nats, the Orioles had 26 hits, batted .351, scored 13 runs and went 8-for-21 with runners in scoring position. Over the Orioles last 11 games, the team batting average is .298, raising the mark on the season from .233 to its current .251. Here is how some hitters have fared through Saturday: Vladimir Guerrero: Is 15-for-32 with seven straight multi-hit games, a career-best stretch. Batting .442 over his last 10 games. Adam Jones: Is 11-for-29 during seven-game hitting streak and hitting .413 over his past 11 games. Nick Markakis: Is 13-for-30 during seven-game hit streak. Matt Wieters: Is 18-for-45 during his career-high, 10-game batting streak with eight RBIs. The Orioles have scored 51 runs over the previous 11 games. The Orioles did not score in the first three innings so far today with just one hit off Jordan Zimmerman.
