Another win and another night producing some amazing stats and notes

After their latest win last night by a 9-3 score over the Detroit Tigers, there are some amazing notes and statistics right now involving this Orioles team. The Orioles are now 23-12 overall and 16-5 at Camden Yards.

How about the fact that the Orioles had just two seven-game winning streaks over the stretch from 2000 through 2015, according to ESPN? So that is two streaks of seven games over 2,592 games. Now they have two in one season and they have two in the first 35 games of this season.

They are just the fourth team to post a pair of win streaks this long in the season's first 35 games in the last 15 years. The others to do it are the 2005 Chicago White Sox, the 2009 Los Angeles Dodgers and the 2011 Cleveland Indians.

How about the fact that today the Orioles can complete their first four-game home sweep of the Detroit Tigers since April 17-20, 1992?

In this series, the Detroit bullpen has allowed 10 runs and 12 hits over 4 2/3 innings.

Here are more notes on the Orioles:

* According to last night's MASN telecast, they have 13 come-from-behind wins this year to lead the American League.

* The Orioles have hit 17 homers over the past six games. They have hit four or more in a game, as they did last night, three times over the last six games. The O's are 18-6 when they hit a home run.

* Mike Wright got the win last night, allowing just three hits and two runs over seven innings. He threw a career-high 108 pitches and fanned six to tie his career high. He fell an out short of his longest career outing of 7 1/3 innings on May 17, 2015 against the Angels.

* Orioles starting pitchers have now worked seven innings or more seven times. They have done that three times the last four games and six times in the past 11 games. O's starters have 13 quality starts the past 17 games with an ERA of 3.30 in that stretch.

Adam Jones back black.jpg* Adam Jones is 11-for-21 (.524) over the last five games with four homers and eight RBIs. He is batting .433 (13-for-30) during a seven-game hitting streak.

* Jonathan Schoop homered twice last night, including his second career grand slam. Schoop also registered his 100th career run scored with his solo home run in the seventh inning. His home runs came in consecutive innings (seventh and eighth). Schoop is now batting .322/.344/.593 (19-for-59) in his last 16 games, including two doubles, one triple, four home runs, and 12 RBIs.

* The Orioles have recorded another series win by taking the first three games against Detroit. They are 8-3-1 in series play.

* The Orioles have not scored a run in the first five innings in this series. They have scored all 17 of their runs in the three games from the sixth inning on.

The Orioles have hit three grand slams in 2016:

* Manny Machado, April 28 against Chicago White Sox
* Machado, May 5 against Oakland
* Schoop, May 14 against Detroit
