Bundy tosses four perfect innings in extended spring training

ARLINGTON, Texas - Dylan Bundy turned in his best outing today at extended spring training, tossing four perfect innings against the Twins and facing two extra batters to raise his pitch count. The only hit off Bundy came after the fourth. He struck out six batters and threw 56 pitches before coming out of the game. Bundy's fastball sat at 91-93 mph and touched 94 mph. In his previous start on May 29, Bundy threw 50 pitches over three hitless innings in Fort Myers. He walked the leadoff batter in each inning and struck out four. Bundy's fastball that day sat at 91 mph and topped out at 92. Note the improvement today. Bundy is scheduled to work five innings in his next start on Sunday. He's approaching a rehab assignment in the minors. The fourth-overall pick in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft, Bundy hasn't pitched in a regular season game at any level since Sept. 25, 2012. The Orioles shut him down in spring training last year and underwent ligament-reconstructive surgery in his right elbow on June 27. Bundy's goal has been to pitch competitively for an affiliate by the one-year anniversary of his surgery.
