Bundy with another strong outing tonight

Orioles top pitching prospect Dylan Bundy of the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds allowed his first professional hit tonight, but then went on to pitch four shutout innings against Asheville in his fifth pro start. He is expected to now come out of the game for a reliever. Bundy allowed just the one hit over the four frames with one walk and four strikeouts. He has now pitched 17 innings over five starts allowing just the one hit in 50 at-bats against South Atlantic League hitters with two walks and 25 strikeouts. That is a batting average of .020 so far against Bundy. Left-handed hitters are now 1-for-24 with 12 strikeouts against him and right-handed batters are 0-for-26 with 13 strikeouts. According to the radio broadcast of Shorebirds' announcer Bret Lasky, Bundy had a pitch recorded at 100 mph on the stadium radar gun in the second inning. Bundy's run without giving up a hit ended tonight against the first batter he faced when Delta Cleary Jr. singled to left to start the game. He was quickly erased a line drive double play hit to the second baseman and a line out to right ended a scoreless first frame for Bundy. Bundy is expected to pitch four innings again in his next start and then move up to pitching five-inning outings. Delmarva leads this game 1-0 heading to the last of the fourth on a Connor Narron RBI single in the second. Update: Trent Howard has come on in the fifth in relief of Bundy, who continues to get pitches in with work in the 'pen.
