Checking in on some numbers before today's Orioles-Dodgers split doubleheader

Passing along a few notes and stats before the Orioles and Dodgers play a split-admission doubleheader today with games at 1:05 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. The Dodgers have lost a season-high four games in a row and are trying to avoid their longest skid since losing seven straight last June 24-30. They have been outscored 23-7 during the losing streak. Since beginning the year 4-2, the Dodgers are 3-6 for an overall 7-8 record. While the Dodgers are 5-1 all-time in the regular season against the Orioles, though they haven't played since 2004, Los Angeles is 17-49 (.258) in American League parks since 2005. Dodgers' first baseman Adrian Gonzalez owns the highest batting average all-time against the Orioles: .386 - Adrian Gonzalez .381 - Harry Heilman and Miguel Cabrera .374 - Ted Simmons By the way all those hits Gonzalez got against Baltimore are not Chris Davis' fault. He struck him out last May at Fenway Park. Former O's catcher, 1983 World Series MVP and MASN's own Rick Dempsey is well known in L.A. for catching Orel Hershiser and the final out of the 1988 World Series. The Orioles went 11-7 last season in interleague games, tying for the best mark in franchise history. The O's won five of six series against the National League finishing above .500 in interleague games for just the fourth time in 16 seasons. O's pitching allowed nine homers in the Tampa Bay series and has given up at least one homer in five straight games, allowing 12 total in that stretch. The Orioles scored a season-high 10 runs in Thursday's win over the Rays after scoring a total of seven runs on just 16 hits over the previous three games. The Orioles went 6-for-7 with runners in scoring position in the Tampa Bay series finale, which matched their total number of hits with runners in scoring position over the six games before that when they went 6-for-36 (.167). In the first 15 games, the Orioles' 3-4-5 hitters are batting .349 (60-for-174) with 14 doubles, 12 homers, 35 runs and 43 RBIs. J.J. Hardy has yet to have a multi-hit game this season. He is 1-for-11 over his past three games and 5-for-29 (.172) over his last eight games. Rainout information: Tickets for Friday's game will be honored for today's 1:05 p.m. game.
