Chen, Davis and Jones talk after the O's Game 2 loss

After giving up five runs over five-plus innings in Game 2 tonight, Wei-Yin Chen talked about his outing against Toronto. "I can just tell you I don't have really good stuff tonight," Chen said through his interpreter. "I didn't pitch well today. After the first batter in the first inning, I walked the guy and started feeling like it's not a good day for me. I tried to fight through it, but it's not my day." Chen has an ERA of 5.90 in five September starts, and was asked if fatigue is a factor. "This was not my day," he said to that question. The left-hander was able to pitch seven innings or more eight times over his first 22 starts, but now has gone that far just once over his last nine starts. "I feel like I still can go deep. I don't think that's a problem for me," he said. Chris Davis was asked about the Yankees and their posting of another win tonight. "You have to expect those guys to win. You don't want to bank on another team losing. But we have to give ourselves a chance to win every game. We have enough on our plate, going out here every night, it's tough to scoreboard watch during the game. "I thought we played really well the first game. It's tough, but you have to keep bouncing back. That home run by Arencibia was a crushing blow. It's a game of momentum but you have to give them credit. They stayed after us. Huge throw by Gose there," Davis said of the double play that ended the Orioles' sixth inning. "But these are the games we are excited about playing. Games that are going to have a playoff atmosphere and mean a lot. These are the type of games you find out what your team is made of. These next few games will really test us as a team," Davis added. Adam Jones was asked about the momentum swing when the O's failed to tie the game in the sixth and then saw J.P. Arencibia hit a grand slam in the seventh to open a five-run lead. "Momentum is (cruel), isn't it? We put ourselves in a position. It happens," Jones said. Jones was asked about the nerves of playing in pennant race and New York's hot streak. "Everybody knows they are on a winning streak. But if we don't win our game, what does it matter? We have to take care of ourselves. We're not playing the Yankees anymore. "It's not nerve-wracking, maybe for you guys. We are just playing baseball. You guys are doing everything else. The pressure is not on us. No one in this clubhouse feels pressure at any time. It's still fun for us," Jones said.
