In case you are wondering, the ball Chris Davis hit down the right-field line in the seventh inning last night just landed. It didn't hit the warehouse, but did become the 25th homer hit by an Oriole to land on Eutaw Street in Camden Yards history.
So far, so good for the Orioles first baseman. Through 19 games he is batting .313 with four homers, 11 RBIs and an OPS of .934.
After last night's 10-1 win over Oakland, Davis talked about how grateful he is to be getting the chance to start every night in the majors right now. He is looking to make the most of this big opportunity for him with this club. You can click on the clip below to hear his comments.
Chris Davis on getting regular playing time by smelewski
Davis has some real big-time power potential and we've seen him hit the ball out to left and right field already. He has three homers in just 31 at-bats at home this year and Camden Yards could be a park he will really like hitting in.
Davis had three hits and four RBIs last night and, over his past four games, is 6-for-13 with three homers and seven RBIs. On the year he already has three multi-RBI games.
Here is another impressive Davis stat: In the seventh inning and later so far this year he is 10-for-22 for an average of .455 with four doubles, two homers and five RBIs.
The 26-year-old former Texas Ranger seems to be fitting in well right now in his first full season in Baltimore.
What is your take?: How do you feel about Davis' potential with the Orioles? Do you see him having a big year as the club's first baseman?
