Could Robert Andino bring some stability to the hot corner?

For the third time in the last five games, Robert Andino will make a start at third base tonight. You have to wonder if Andino might not be the club's best option at third now, a position that has been error-filled for the Orioles this year. With some uncertainty for the team at the hot corner, does Andino think he could be the guy right now to provide the team with some stability on defense there? He is not making any public proclamations about wanting that job. "Whatever I have to do to help the team win, I'll do it. I don't care, to be honest with you," he said today when asked if he could be the guy to provide some third base dependability. Andino has been getting fewer starts since Brian Roberts returned to the lineup. He said it has not been tough starting less now. "No. That was like my role coming in anyway," Andino said. "No, it's just that you have to put your time in at other positions (during pregame work) each day." Has playing at third been a big adjustment or change for him? "You just have to react more. More reaction over there. I don't want to think, so I'm good with it," Andino said. He said that even if Buck Showalter wants to try him in the outfield, he's ready for that. "I go out there and mess around a bit," Andino said. Like the team, Andino has been struggling at bat recently, going 2-for-15 and he is batting just .156 over his last 13 games. He hit .311 in April and had his average up to .342 in early May, but now he's at .236 with three homers, 17 RBIs and a .617 OPS after 67 games. As for the team, the Orioles have scored just 23 runs with a team average of only .186 the past 12 games. "Everybody is fine, man. We leave it in the past," Andino said. "Today is another day, so go forward. We're all staying positive. We're all good. Just got to find a way to get through it and we'll be fine."
