Davis doing damage (O's win 8-4)

Anyone still worried about Chris Davis? The Orioles first baseman has two hits tonight - a two-run double in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fifth that gave the Orioles a 5-4 lead. Indians rookie T.J. House could use some insurance against the type of damage inflicted by Davis. He's not alone. Davis is 8-for-16 with four home runs and 10 RBIs in his last four games. He hit three homers off three different Pirates pitchers on Tuesday. Beast mode. The Indians took a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning on Lonnie Chisenhall's RBI double and Jason Giambi's three-run homer, an opposite field shot that barely made it out. Giambi was 1-for-14 with no home runs or RBIs before tonight. Norris threw 32 pitches in the fourth. The Orioles' rally in the fifth started with Adam Jones' second hit of the night, a leadoff single. Davis jumped on the next pitch, a slider, and dumped it into the right field seats. The Orioles have 10 hits. Two more will give them 12 for the fifth straight game, the first time that's happened since 2004. Update: Bud Norris lasted six innings, allowing four runs and six hits, walking three, striking out six and serving up a home run. He threw 110 pitches, three fewer than his season high. T.J. McFarland replaced Norris to start the seventh and walked Michael Bourn with one out, but Mike Aviles bounced into a double play. Norris has gone 7 2/3, 7 1/3 and six innings in his last three starts. Update II: The Orioles scored three runs in the seventh and lead 8-4. Adam Jones doubled again and scored on pitcher Mark Lowe's throwing error. J.J. Hardy had an RBI grounder and Delmon Young delivered an RBI double. The Orioles have scored six or more runs in five straight games. The club record is six, accomplished twice, most recently in 1993. The 12 hits or more in five straight games hadn't been done since 2004. The Orioles have received three intentional walks tonight for the first time since May 26, 2013. Tonight's attendance: 39,602 Update III: Game over. Orioles win 8-4 behind home runs by Nelson Cruz and Chris Davis, and four hits from Nick Markakis. The Orioles had lost four of their last five games before tonight. They're now 24-22. The Orioles have scored 38 runs in their last five games.
