Dylan Bundy, Hunter Harvey pitch in minors today (plus other notes from Twin Lakes Park)

SARASOTA, Fla. - It's the fourth day of Orioles minor league exhibition games at Twin Lakes Park and for the first time, top draft picks Dylan Bundy and Hunter Harvey will be pitching in minor league exhibitions.

While Single-A teams Delmarva and Frederick are on the road in Fort Myers playing against Minnesota, Triple-A Norfolk and Double-A Bowie are home today at noon against the Twins.

Harvey is slated to pitch two innings for Frederick in Fort Myers and Bundy is scheduled to pitch three innings for Bowie at Twin Lakes Park.

Bundy pitched in four spring games, allowing seven hits and four runs with six walks and three strikeouts in six innings. Harvey pitched three innings over three games, allowing one hit and one unearned run with two walks and four strikeouts.

Oliver Drake is scheduled to start and pitch one inning today for Triple-A Norfolk while Jean Cosme is starting and slated for two innings on the road today for Delmarva. Drake is still considered a relief pitcher despite getting a start today.

There are no minor league exhibition games on Sunday. Here are the listed starters in the minors for Monday: Eddie Gamboa (Norfolk), Terry Doyle (Bowie), David Hess (Frederick) and Brian Gonzalez (Delmarva). Those starters are scheduled to pitch four innings except for Doyle, who is listed for three.

I asked Orioles director of player development Brian Graham what he wants his players to accomplish in these first few games.

"You just want to see guys compete and pitchers throwing strikes, that is the most important thing right now, catch the ball defensively and everybody plays," Graham said. "So it's not a matter of who wins and loses at this point."

Graham said pitcher Bobby Bundy has had a good camp. He is working his way back from three procedures. The older brother of Dylan Bundy, Bobby twice had bone spurs removed from his right elbow and eventually had ligament-reconstructive surgery, the same procedure as his brother.

"He is throwing extremely well," Graham said. "The other day against the Canadian team, he threw very well. He'll be in a bullpen role and I would guess start in Bowie. Very pleased how he has progressed."
