He opposes veteran left-hander Jon Lester (5-4, 3.83 ERA). After the game, the Nats head to St. Louis for a weekend series against the Cardinals.
Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy is in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak. He hit a home run on Wednesday. Murphy is hitting .378 with 10 doubles, one triple, five homers and 22 RBIs the last 27 games.
Shortstop Trea Turner is tied for the major league lead with 33 stolen bases. He has five so far in this series.
