It looks like we'll start on time tonight. The tarp's off the field, players are warming up and the lineups are being introduced over the PA system. Closer Mike Gonzalez is the proud father of a baby girl, Arianna Marie Gonzalez. She's 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and she's 19 1/2 inches long. Gonzalez claims that she's "gorgeous." Aren't they all? Manager Dave Trembley commented on Monday's record-low crowd at Camden Yards. "I think it's always nice to have a lot of people, but you understand that's not always going to be the case," he said. "These guys are professional athletes. I'm sure they like to play in front of big crowds and nice venues. We certainly had that on Opening Day here. Notoriously, Mondays are not very good around Major League Baseball until school gets out." The Orioles might have been in danger of setting another record tonight, but it's Matt Wieters T-shirt Tuesday. That should save them. Here' a promotional idea: The first 10,000 fans get a warm hug. Update: The Orioles sold around 13,000 tickets for tonight. Bad weather, bad start to the season. A Wieters T-shirt and Brian Matusz start should attract a better crowd.
