Hagerstown outfielder Wander Ramos placed on disabled list

Low Single-A Hagerstown Suns outfielder Wander Ramos has been placed on the seven-day disabled list with a hamstring injury, according to a club source. The injury does not appear to be serious, and they will take a precautionary measure to rest the hamstring this early in the season. The 22-year-old Ramos (who turns 23 in two weeks) was hitting .200 (2-for-10) in four games, with two RBIs, a run scored and three walks. Outfielder Will Piwnica-Worms has been called up from extended spring training. Piwnica-Worms, out of Duke University, hit .229 in 46 games last season for GCL Nationals, with 11 extra-base hits and 18 RBIs. Ramos has drawn top reviews from his play in GCL and spring training, so it would be nice to see him recover quickly so he can get some games under his belt for the Suns to see what he can do.
