Homers continue to hurt Hunter, but O's lead 2-1 (updated)

The Orioles gave Tommy Hunter a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning tonight after loading the bases with no outs. It should have been a much more productive frame, but Adam Jones grounded into a double play and Matt Wieters grounded to first. The Blue Jays tied the score in the top of the third on Eric Thames' first home run this season, the ball traveling an estimated 410 feet and hitting the warehouse on one bounce. However, Matt Wieters broke the tie in the fourth inning with his sixth home run, giving him the team lead. The ball deflected off Thames' glove and cleared the fence. Hunter has allowed seven home runs this year, tying him with the Blue Jays' Brandon Morrow for most in the majors. Thames' blast was the 58th home run on Eutaw St., the 34th by an opponent and the first since Aug. 26, 2011. The player? Nick Swisher. The pitcher? Tommy Hunter. The last Blue Jay to homer onto Eutaw St. was Eric Hinske on Aug. 22, 2004 off left-hander Erik Bedard. Down on the farm, Dylan Bundy threw four perfect innings tonight for Single-A Delmarva, striking out six batters. That makes 13 scoreless and hitless innings, with one walk and 21 strikeouts. Update: Hunter went six innings and held the Blue Jays to one run and three hits, with three walks and three strikeouts. He threw 103 pitches, 66 strikes.
