Jonathan Schoop working out at Camden Yards

Second baseman Jonathan Schoop is working out at Camden Yards today before the Orioles taking batting practice.

Schoop is running sprints with vice president of baseball operations Brady Anderson. Manager Buck Showalter, head athletic trainer Richie Bancells and assistant athletic trainer Brian Ebel are standing along the right field line.

The Orioles could choose to activate Schoop from the disabled list before tonight's game, forcing them to open two spots on the 25-man roster, or delay the move.

Schoop has hit home runs in three straight games at Double-A Bowie. He came out of last night's game after the sixth inning.

The Orioles haven't announced any moves or posted their lineup. The clubhouse opens to the media at 3:10 p.m.

Schoop has appeared in only nine games for the Orioles this season, the last on April 17 in Boston before injuring his right knee.

Update: Schoop is headed back to Bowie, and he won't be activated tonight.
