Jones breaks up perfect game (O's win 6-3)

Adam Jones separated Justin Masterson from perfection tonight, lining a single into center field leading off the bottom of the fifth inning. The shutout also disappeared. Maybe it melted in this heat. Chris Davis singled to put runners on the corners with one out. Matt Wieters struck out - he's still scuffling as the No. 6 hitter in the lineup - and J.J. Hardy grounded into a force at second as Jones raced home. Indians 3, Orioles 0 Davis slid hard into the bag to prevent a throw that may have completed the double play. Jones grounded out on an 0-2 count in the second inning before breaking up the perfect game. He still hasn't walked since May 18, a span of 150 plate appearances. According to BillChuck/BaseballAnalytics.org, Jones is one game shy of tying Eric Hinske for the longest stretch of games without a walk this season. Hinske had 43 at-bats during his streak. Jones has eight walks and 64 strikeouts this season. He's started every game. Alexi Casilla has struck out twice tonight. He was 9-for-26 with a home run and eight RBIs against Masterson before tonight. Down on the farm, Brian Roberts is 1-for-3 with a double, run scored and strikeout at Triple-A Norfolk. Tonight's attendance: 20,924 Update: Chris Davis hit a long two-run homer off Masterson to tie the game in the seventh inning, and Alexi Casilla delivered a three-run shot to give the Orioles a 6-3 lead. Yes, Alexi Casilla. Remember the stat I passed along today? Casilla was 9-for-26 with a homer and eight RBIs against Masterson before tonight. He struck out twice and... That's why manager Buck Showalter started him over Ryan Flaherty. Casilla's last home run? It came on Aug. 8, 2012 against Masterson. Davis launched an 89 mph sinker for his 28th home run. He also has 72 RBIs. Troy Patton replaced Tillman, who turned in his 10th quality start of the season. Tillman allowed three runs and four hits in seven innings, with four walks, six strikeouts and one home run. He threw 95 pitches, 56 for strikes. Nice recovery by Tillman, who gave the Orioles a much-needed seven-inning start. Update II: The losing streak ends at four games. Jim Johnson picked up his 27th save to secure the Orioles' 6-3 victory over the Indians. Johnson issued a leadoff walk to Carlos Santana and gave up a single to former Oriole Mark Reynolds, but Lonnie Chisenhall grounded into a 4-6-3 double play. Pinch-hitter Jason Giambi walked with two outs to put runners on the corners, but Michael Bourn struck out. Tillman improves to 9-2. The Orioles are 43-35. Meanwhile, Roberts is 2-for-4 with a double and run scored at Norfolk.

O's use two longballs to end one losing streak
Masterson has done what some O's starters have not...
