Markakis and Jones drive in two each as O's top Texas 6-5

Adrian Beltre hammered two more homers against the Orioles. Meanwhile, Bud Norris gave up five runs and left the game with a sore forearm. The Orioles blew a three-run lead. But they didn't blow the game. Nick Markakis' RBI single in the sixth broke the 5-5 tie as the Orioles beat the Rangers 6-5 tonight at Globe Life Park. The Orioles have scored 27 runs in winning four in a row to improve to 30-27 for the season. The Birds have scored 37 runs during a seven-game win streak against Texas dating back to last season. The Orioles scored one in the first, three in the third and one in the fifth in taking a 5-2 lead. But Beltre's second homer of the game - a three-run shot off of Norris - tied it 5-5 in the fifth. Over his last 10 games against the Orioles, Beltre has hit nine homers with 18 RBIs. In his last 20 games against Baltimore pitching he has 13 homers and 29 RBIs. This was his 26th career multi-homer game. Adam Jones and Markakis had two RBIs each for the Orioles. Markakis hit a solo homer in the third. Chris Davis hit a solo homer in the fifth. Davis was 3-for-32 with 16 strikeouts over his last eight games. Nelson Cruz went 3-for-5 and reached base all fives he batted, twice reaching on errors, scoring twice. The Orioles have now scored six or more runs 10 times in the last 16 games, scoring 87 runs in that stretch. Orioles starter Norris left the game with a right forearm contusion. He took a shot off the bat off Mitch Moreland off his arm one batter before Beltre's fifth-inning homer. Norris gave up six hits and five runs over five innings, throwing 99 pitches. He did get the win and is 4-5 with an ERA of 4.41. Norris has allowed four or more runs in four of his last five outings. But three O's pitchers combined for four scoreless innings out of the bullpen. T.J. McFarland went 1 2/3 innings, Darren O'Day 1 1/3 frames and Zach Britton closed it out in the ninth for his fifth save in six chances. In the finale of this long road trip on Thursday night, Chris Tillman (5-2, 4.63 ERA) faces right-hander Colby Lewis (4-4, 5.44 ERA).
